Lyn Jackson: Writer, PR Strategist

As a cre­ative com­mu­ni­ca­tions pro­fes­sional and for­mer award-​​winning jour­nal­ist, Lyn Jackson excels at mak­ing com­plex ideas com­pelling and easy to understand.

Lyn began her career as a TV news reporter, moved to WRAL-​​TV in Raleigh, NC as a pro­ducer, and then entered the fast paced world of sales as a media account executive.

After more than two decades of work­ing in broad­cast media, Lyn took her com­mu­ni­ca­tions expe­ri­ence into the non-​​profit sec­tor as the exter­nal affairs direc­tor for the North Carolina Child Advocacy Institute. Later, she began a communications/​media con­sul­tancy work­ing with a vari­ety of orga­ni­za­tions pri­mar­ily in the field of health, well­ness, med­ical and men­tal health marketing.

In addi­tion to her non-​​profit work, Lyn has also con­sulted for clients in the pub­lic and pri­vate sec­tor includ­ing WakeMed, the Poe Center for Health Education, SELMedia, the NC Health and Wellness Trust Fund, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University.

Lyn has a Master’s degree in jour­nal­ism from Columbia University in New York and a Bachelor’s degree in com­mu­ni­ca­tions from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

She is an active com­mu­nity vol­un­teer, hav­ing served on non-​​profit boards, com­mis­sions, fundrais­ers, and in the local schools.
