As a creative communications professional and former award-winning journalist, Lyn Jackson excels at making complex ideas compelling and easy to understand.
Lyn began her career as a TV news reporter, moved to WRAL-TV in Raleigh, NC as a producer, and then entered the fast paced world of sales as a media account executive.
After more than two decades of working in broadcast media, Lyn took her communications experience into the non-profit sector as the external affairs director for the North Carolina Child Advocacy Institute. Later, she began a communications/media consultancy working with a variety of organizations primarily in the field of health, wellness, medical and mental health marketing.
In addition to her non-profit work, Lyn has also consulted for clients in the public and private sector including WakeMed, the Poe Center for Health Education, SELMedia, the NC Health and Wellness Trust Fund, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University.
Lyn has a Master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University in New York and a Bachelor’s degree in communications from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
She is an active community volunteer, having served on non-profit boards, commissions, fundraisers, and in the local schools.
