Communication Matters Achieves Green Plus Certification

Hillsborough, NC — January 10, 2011: Communication Matters, the Hillsborough, North Carolina based strate­gic mar­ket­ing com­pany is proud to announce that it has achieved full cer­ti­fi­ca­tion from Green Plus, the sus­tain­abil­ity cer­ti­fi­ca­tion and edu­ca­tion pro­gram of the Institute for Sustainable Development in Durham, North Carolina. Full cer­ti­fi­ca­tion is awarded to only to those busi­nesses and orga­ni­za­tions that make excep­tional and mean­ing­ful efforts in the three areas of sus­tain­abil­ity: People, Planet, and Performance. Hough joined Green Plus in August 2009, com­pleted the diag­nos­tic sur­vey, and was des­ig­nated a GreenPlus Mover, mean­ing she was doing well meet­ing stan­dards in some areas but needed to step up her efforts in oth­ers. “When I took the sur­vey, I had a pretty good idea where I would score well and where I needed to improve,” Hough explains. “The out­come sup­ported my assump­tion — I needed to do bet­ter in the area of strate­gic plan­ning and in shoring up my busi­ness processes.” Hough wel­comed the con­fir­ma­tion of her assump­tions, but bet­ter yet, she says, is that the Green Plus pro­gram gave her con­crete guid­ance on how to make improvements.
