Communication Matters Achieves Green Plus Certification

Hillsborough, NC — January 10, 2011: Communication Matters, the Hillsborough, North Carolina based strategic marketing company is proud to announce that it has achieved full certification from Green Plus, the sustainability certification and education program of the Institute for Sustainable Development in Durham, North Carolina. Full certification is awarded to only to those businesses and organizations that make exceptional and meaningful efforts in the three areas of sustainability: People, Planet, and Performance. Hough joined Green Plus in August 2009, completed the diagnostic survey, and was designated a GreenPlus Mover, meaning she was doing well meeting standards in some areas but needed to step up her efforts in others. “When I took the survey, I had a pretty good idea where I would score well and where I needed to improve,” Hough explains. “The outcome supported my assumption — I needed to do better in the area of strategic planning and in shoring up my business processes.” Hough welcomed the confirmation of her assumptions, but better yet, she says, is that the Green Plus program gave her concrete guidance on how to make improvements.
