“Communication Matters has always been a vir­tual com­pany, but I wanted to do a bet­ter job mar­ket­ing the value of that model to cur­rent and poten­tial clients,” says Libbie Hough, owner of the com­pany. Hough cred­its a meet­ing with Laura Schoppe, CEO of Fuentek, based in Apex, North Carolina, with inspir­ing her to make the most of her company’s struc­ture. “Laura runs an incred­i­bly suc­cess­ful busi­ness using a vir­tual busi­ness model and is liv­ing proof that both process and prod­uct for clients and team mem­bers can be excep­tional,” she explains.

Explaining the company’s struc­ture on the web­site and in all her busi­ness deal­ings gives her clients and team mem­bers what they want: an authen­tic busi­ness expe­ri­ence and a high-​​quality prod­uct at a great value. “Clients know they are pay­ing only for the ser­vices they need rather than the upkeep of an entire agency,” explains Hough. “It’s also great for my col­leagues,” she says “They are free to pick and choose the projects they want to work on and to main­tain their own client base too.”
